OpenBSD spamd

ADVERTISEMENTS

Information on the spamd deamon that comes with OpenBSD you can check out www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?que...6&format=html (search 'spamd' if it does not work). It is a sendmail like daemon trying to kill spam before it reaches the real sendmail/MTA on the server. One of it's features is support for greylisting. There is one example of using greylisting with OpenBSD 3.5 here: www.elwood.net/greyspamd.html

New features and additions are currently being implemented into spamd, find out a bit more at: www.openbsd.org/papers/bsdcan05-spamd/
(Bob Beck's presentation at BSDCAN 2005)

A new presentation is available here, presenting more tricks and more up-to-date: www.ualberta.ca/~beck/nycbug06/spamd/
