Highly rated for global hiring, but fees and support draw repeated complaints

Deel has 4.8/5 on G2 from 5,878 Deel Hire reviews, 4.9 on Capterra from 4,263 reviews and public entry prices from $49 per contractor to $599 per employee per month for employer of record, but reviewers repeatedly report high cost, withdrawal fees and slow support, and the vendor page lists no prices for payroll and HR.

What Deel is and who it is for

Deel is a platform for hiring, paying and managing workers across borders. Its vendor pricing page lists products for finding talent, paying contractors, contractor of record, a US professional employer organization (PEO), employer of record (EOR), payroll, HR, IT, and equipment, along with bundles. Third-party reports from 2025 describe a legal dispute with the competitor Rippling, which sued Deel in California in March 2025 and alleged corporate espionage. Deel filed a defamation suit in Delaware in April 2025. The California case was in discovery with no trial date at the time of those reports.

Deel suits companies that hire contractors or employees in several countries and want one place to handle contracts, payments and compliance. A team that employs people in a single country, particularly a small US-only business, pays for cross-border tooling it may not use and is likely better served by a domestic HR and payroll product from the HR software roundup.

What Deel does

According to the vendor pricing page, the product range covers hiring support, contractor management, contractor of record (where Deel takes on the classification liability), a US PEO, EOR for hiring in countries where the buyer has no entity, and add-on modules for payroll, HR, IT and equipment. The vendor states that its local payroll offering is powered by PaySpace.

Independent reviewers on G2 most often praise ease of use, the interface and quick setup, with more than 4,000 Deel Hire reviews mentioning ease of use. The same review pool carries the most consistent criticism: cost, withdrawal fees, slow validation and payment delays.

Customer outcomes come from vendor-published case studies, so they are vendor-sourced. Amilon reports cutting 480 hours of monthly HR work, Beatgrid reports saving more than 500 hours a month, and Form3 reports a 20% rise in workforce in one year.

On security, the vendor states that it holds SOC 2 certification with an annual audit and publishes a SOC 3 summary. It also holds an ISO 27001 certificate. The SOC 2 report and the ISO documents are available through customer support on request.

Deel pricing

Vendor-sourced prices from the Deel pricing page, all billed monthly:

  • Find talent: from $14 per worker per month.
  • Contractors: from $49 per contractor per month.
  • Contractor of record: from $325 per month.
  • US PEO: from $125 per employee per month.
  • EOR: from $599 per employee per month.
  • Payroll, HR, IT, Manage, Pay, Equip and Bundle plans are listed on the vendor page without prices.

Sources disagree on a free tier. The vendor page lists none, while some third-party price trackers list a free contractor tier.

Entry price and total cost differ. A third-party analysis reports that the EOR fee excludes salary and employer taxes, and G2 reviewers report withdrawal and currency conversion fees. On G2, 686 Deel Hire reviews call the product expensive.

Deel pros

  • G2 lists Deel Hire at 4.8/5 from 5,878 reviews and Deel Payroll at 4.7/5 from about 6,065 reviews (review platform).
  • Capterra lists Deel at 4.9 from 4,263 reviews (review platform).
  • Reviewers on G2 consistently praise ease of use, the interface and fast setup.
  • Entry prices for contractors, contractor of record, PEO and EOR are published on the vendor page.
  • SOC 2, SOC 3 and ISO 27001 are published by the vendor, and the platform covers hiring, contractors, EOR and payroll in one product range.

Deel cons

  • Reviewers report cost as a problem: 686 G2 Deel Hire reviews call it expensive (review platform).
  • About 419 G2 reviews cite withdrawal fees and slow validation, and about 517 report payment delays and slow support responses (review platform).
  • About 352 G2 reviews are tagged as poor customer support, even though a G2 generated summary scores support quality at 9.2, so reported support experience varies.
  • Payroll, HR and IT prices are not listed on the vendor page, which makes total cost harder to compare.
  • Customers who need only one country or a simple HR system pay for cross-border tooling they do not use.

How Deel compares

  • Gusto: choose it when all employees are in one country and you do not need Deel's EOR or contractor of record products.
  • BambooHR: choose it when the need is a core HR system for an existing domestic workforce rather than cross-border hiring and payment.

Deel verdict

Deel earns a 6.8 out of 10. Review platform volume and ratings are strong, and the interface and setup get consistent praise. It will not be cheap or simple on cost: fees, unpublished payroll and HR pricing, and mixed support reports pull down its value and support scores. It is right for companies hiring contractors or employees across several countries, and not right for single-country teams that need straightforward HR and payroll.
