Zoho CRM review

CRM software review

A low-cost CRM with a free tier, but conflicting price reports

Zoho CRM scores 6.9/10 in this Zoho CRM review, with a Free edition for up to 3 users, about 7,000 Capterra reviews at 4.3 out of 5, and four paid editions that step up to CPQ, territory management and custom AI. Third-party sources disagree on paid prices and whether there are four or six tiers, AI features sit on the higher editions, and every documented customer outcome is vendor-sourced.

What Zoho CRM is and who it is for

Zoho CRM is a customer relationship management product from Zoho. The vendor sells a Free edition for up to 3 users and four paid editions: Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. Zoho also sells CRM Plus, a bundle with Starter and Enterprise versions, and Bigin Express, which is a separate product.

The range of editions suits teams that want to start free and add process management, inventory, territory management or custom AI as they grow.

What Zoho CRM does

The Free edition covers contact management, workflow automation, 10 custom email templates, data import and export, standard reports, an API allowance of 5,000 calls per day and mobile apps (vendor-sourced). Standard adds workflows, AI agents, cadences, dashboards and forecasting. Professional adds process management, inventory management, predictive intelligence, CPQ and custom portals. Enterprise adds multi-team management, approval processes, a developer sandbox, field-level encryption, extended Zia AI and territory management. Ultimate adds higher limits, consulting, migration assistance and custom AI and machine learning through QuickML (vendor-sourced).

AI features follow the tier ladder. Third-party reporting says AI agents start at Standard, the full Zia assistant sits on Enterprise and enriched AI and machine learning sits on Ultimate. That gating pushes buyers who want the AI features toward the more expensive editions.

A Capterra reviewer describes the interface as dated, and a G2 reviewer reports a refund taking a month. Capterra sub-scores are 4.1 for ease of use and 4.1 for customer service (review platform).

Vendor case studies report results such as UTS Group saving 80+ hours a month, KOTS Housing raising calls per agent per day from 50 to 120, and RJG Inc. reporting a 776% annual ROI. All of these are vendor-sourced and are not averaged with the review platform data.

On security, Zoho states that it complies with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 (vendor-sourced), and its help documentation describes SAML-based single sign-on through a customer's identity provider. Field-level encryption is an Enterprise feature, so smaller plans do not get it.

Zoho CRM pricing

Prices are per user per month. Sources disagree on the paid tiers.

  • Free: $0 for up to 3 users (vendor-sourced).
  • Standard: $14 on annual billing, about $20 monthly (third-party reported).
  • Professional: $23 on annual billing, about $35 monthly (third-party reported).
  • Enterprise: $40 on annual billing, about $50 monthly (third-party reported).
  • Ultimate: $52 on annual billing, about $65 monthly (third-party reported).
  • CRM Plus Starter: starts at $20 per user per month, with the billing cycle unstated (vendor-sourced).

Sources disagree on the top of the range. Several third-party sources dated June 2026 list Ultimate at $52 across six tiers. A CostBench changelog reports that, between its July 8 and July 14, 2026 snapshots, the top tier fell from $52 to $40 and the lineup went from six tiers to four. CostBench says these are observed differences between page snapshots and not confirmed price changes. PricingSaaS recorded no list price increase in its August 2026 weekly comparison (third-party reported). Zoho's own page names Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate, and offers a free trial on Standard, Professional and Enterprise. Taxes are charged in addition (vendor-sourced).

Entry price and total cost diverge. CostBench documents at least six costs beyond list price, including implementation, training and add-on fees (third-party reported). Annual billing saves about 20% over monthly billing, per the same third-party pricing source.

Zoho CRM pros

  • Zoho CRM's biggest strength in review data is its Free edition, which gives up to 3 users contact management, workflow automation, reports and mobile apps at no cost (vendor-sourced).
  • Zoho CRM review volume is large: Capterra shows 4.3 out of 5 from roughly 7,000 reviews, and G2 shows 4.1 out of 5 from roughly 2,900 reviews.
  • Editions step up from basic workflows to CPQ, inventory management, territory management and a developer sandbox, so one product covers several team sizes.
  • Zoho states SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance and supports SAML single sign-on.
  • Annual-billing list prices reported by third parties start at $14 per user per month for a paid plan, below the other paid tiers.

Zoho CRM cons

  • A Capterra reviewer describes the interface as dated, and a G2 reviewer reports slow customer service.
  • Third-party sources disagree on the paid prices and on whether the lineup has four or six tiers, which makes budgeting harder.
  • Documented costs beyond list price include implementation, training and add-ons.
  • AI agents, the full Zia assistant and custom AI are spread across higher tiers, so the AI features cost more than the entry price suggests.
  • Every documented customer outcome is vendor-sourced, so the evidence for results rests on the vendor's own case studies.

Zoho CRM verdict

Zoho CRM earns a 6.9 for a free entry tier, a broad edition ladder, large review volumes on Capterra and G2 and stated SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance. It does not offer a settled price list, a modern interface by reviewer accounts or independent proof of customer outcomes. It suits small teams that can start on the Free edition and grow into paid tiers. It is a weaker fit for buyers who need a fixed budget today or who want AI features without paying for the upper editions.
